Leech Lake Area

The bite has been good for perch and eelpout.
The walleye bite is spotty! Walker bay has been the hot area for walleye and pout. Jigging spoons at low light conditions.
Have had better perch reports this week and that will only get better as well with the tulibees!
Awesome weather so hope people get out.

Weather is turning positive and the fish seem to being the same.
Last 3 days the bite has picked up, especially walleye and eelpout!
Same techniques basically jigging spoons and glow as often as can in low light or after dark.
Some tulibee action. Little early but will get better.

The ice is shaping up pretty good. The bite has been a little slower.
Walleyes seem to have small windows of a bite. Seems best has been over night on rattle wheels.
Perch bite is going good but have to sort and be as mobile as can. Fatheads and pike minnows are working best for Walleyes and fatheads for perch

Not much has changed on ice depth. They are allowing vehicles out from shores of pine point and horseshoe Bay. Walker bay is very limited and would not advise vehicle traffic. Atvs and snowmobiles. Fishing has been pretty good this week. Jigging spoons and dead sticks. Glow colors and perch colors. If perch fishing be as mobile as you can and hole hop until you get on them. Perch are really roaming the flats and seem to be constantly moving

Ice on the main lake is 12 to 13 inches with vehicle travel allowed out of certain areas. Check with local bait store for updates! Fishing has been good! Perch and walleyes! Jigging spoons tipped with a fat head and dead sticking with rainbows and shiners! In walker bay the ice is less. 9 to 10.5 inches but do check. Found a couple places with 7 to 8! Atvs and snowmobile recommended still especially with this nice weather! Same sort of presentation is working in the bay also!

The 5 to 6 inches of snow Tue night didn't help.
The main lake on leech has about 12 inches of ice. Not much on vehicle traffic yet.
In walker bay its sitting in the 8.5 to 9 inches. Wheeler and snowmobile travel. Fishing has been pretty good! Seems like jigging spoons tipped with a minnow head and also rainbows and shiners on a dead stick!
Still recommend checking the ice as you head out on any of the area lakes.
